2024 brings newly designed labels for WOOL SHrED.

The ‘old labels’ were created by me during Lockdown and lasted over 2.5 years without any changes. There were several factors why they weren’t changed, which I will look back on and would definitely advise other start-up businesses to consider.

Firstly, I had too many labels at the start, which was down to me being incredibly optimistic! Cost, as a start-up every penny and pound count. Having too many product labels I wasn’t going to waste them, plus there was no budget for new ones!

During those 2 + years WOOL SHrED’s ability to solve gardening and more recently floristry issues evolved, resulting in additional labels being added to the packaging (advice to customers about WOOL SHrED uses and application). I also had constructive feedback from a couple of customers, which I parked in the back of my head for a rainy day.

It wasn’t until April 2023 that I was able to apply for a small business LEAP grant from Horsham District Council to fund the design and printing of new labels. I must add at this point that I’m grateful to all those behind the scenes who helped me with signposting help for this project, designing, critiquing ( I do have a product focus group – something taken from the Apprentice) and printing.

I’m really pleased that the labels and literature look more professional going forward, I hope you like them too.
